METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF HEARING Proposed Ordinance 2026-0065 NOTICE OF HEARING ON THE MATTER OF THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY: A portion of 149th Avenue SE and portions of King County Road Nos. 949, 1182, 1244 and 23-23-5-4 VACATION FILE V-2771 PROPOSED ORDINANCE (2026-0065) Petitioner: King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a proposed ordinance for the approval of a petition to vacate a portion of 149th Avenue SE and portions of King County Road Nos. 949, 1182, 1244 and 23-23-5-4 right-of-way has been filed with the Clerk of the County Council. A remote public hearing before the King County Hearing Examiner will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The area to be vacated is described as follows: All those portions of Elliott Bridge No. 2 Road (King County Road No. 949), Jones Road (King County Road No. 1182), abandoned King County Road No. 1244, and Elliott Bridge Relocation Road (King County Road No. 23-23-5-4), Also known as 149th Avenue Southeast, lying southerly of the Cedar River and lying northerly of the following described line: Commencing at the west quarter corner of Section 23, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., said corner being a scribed "X" in stone 1.5 feet below grade and having a Washington State Plane North Zone NAD 83/91 coordinate value of N.173074.34, E.1316563.79 per King County Survey Database point number 3778; Thence N00°20'12"E, a distance of 382.58 feet to a point on the west line of said Section 23, said point bearing S00°20'12"W, a distance of 2139.16 feet from the northwest corner of said Section 23, said corner being a 3" brass disk set in concrete and having a Washington State Plane North Zone NAD 83/91 coordinate value of N.175596.03, E.1316578.61 per King County Survey Database point number 3765; Thence S 89°39'48" E, a distance of 200.74 feet to a point on the northwesterly right-of-way margin of 149th Avenue SE at the intersection with the westerly line of Road No. 949 as deeded to King County under Recording No. 820283, said point being the True Point of Beginning of the herein described line; Thence across said deeded right-of-way, N 21°25'05" E, a distance of 74.65 feet to the intersection of its easterly boundary with a line parallel with and offset 2.4' southerly of the cul-de-sac right-of-way line as deeded to King County under Recording No. 20031219001122; Thence along a line parallel with and offset 2.4 feet southerly of said deeded cul-de-sac, N 79°06'58" E, a distance of 7.37 feet to the beginning of a curve the right having a radius of 60.00 feet; Thence along said curve to the right, a distance of 98.0 feet, more or less, to the intersection with the easterly line of 149th Avenue SE as surveyed by King County Survey No. 23-23-5-4, and the terminus of the herein described line. Said roads having a combined length of approximately 730 feet (0.14 miles). The adjacent parcels are zoned UR.
