SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL Snohomish County, Washington NOTICE OF ENACTMENT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on February 4, 2026, the Snohomish County Council approved Ordinance 26-001. ORDINANCE NO. 26-001 RELATING TO THE MEETING REQUIREMENTS OF THE ETHICS COMMISSION AND AMENDING SCC 2.50.100 Summary: The Snohomish County Ethics Commission, established through Snohomish County Code (SCC) 2.50.080-115, is responsible for reviewing complaints against county employees who violate the Countys Code of Ethics under SCC 2.50. When complaints are received, the Chair of the Commission reviews them for validity and either moves them to the full body for action or dismisses them. Over the last twenty years, one complaint has been found valid and advanced to the full body for consideration. Regardless of the low volume of complaints, County Code currently requires the Commission to meet twice a year. On December 5, 2025, the Commission met and unanimously recommended amending the meeting frequency required in County Code to one meeting annually, taking place in January. Should complaints be filed that need to be addressed after the first required meeting of the year, the Code would allow for additional meetings to be scheduled as needed. For More Information: Copies of the ordinance and related documents are available upon request by calling the Council Office at (425) 388-3494, TTY/TDD Relay 711, 1(800) 562-4367 x3494, or by e-mailing Contact.Council@snoco.org.
