NOTICE INVITING BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Oxnard Union High School District (“District”) is seeking electronic bids from qualified, experienced, and licensed contractors for construction/installation of the following public-project (“Project”): Bid 727 New Walkway - Rancho Campana High School for a project value of $200,000 to include all equipment, materials, tools, and expertise for completion of a new pedestrian walkway, with a railing, fencing and gate.
BID DOCUMENTS: The documents necessary to submit a bid for the Project (“Bid Documents”) are available for download, at no cost, from the following link on the District’s website: https://www.oxnardunion.org/depart ments/business-services/purchasing-warehousing/ request-for-bids-proposals
BID SUBMITTAL: Bidders must submit electronic bids to Ann Marie Johansen of District Advocates Group atannmarie@dagk12.com. Bids will be opened and posted on the District website noted above. Any bid submitted after this time shall be nonresponsive and will not be accepted or viewed. Each Bidder is solely responsible for timely submission of its bid; the District is not responsible for any technological issues in a Bidder’s ability to timely submit its bid or portion thereof.
BID DEADLINE: Bids must be received not later than 10:00 a.m. on May 29, 2026 (“Bid Deadline”).
REQUIRED BID SECURITY: Each bid must be submitted with bid security as described in the Instructions for Bidders. Bid Security is due IN HARD COPY by the BID DUE DATE and TIME.
CONTRACTOR LICENSE: In order to bid on the Work, a contractor must have a CSLB-issued contractor license with the following classification(s): B or C-8.
MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE: The District will conduct a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit at 10:00 a.m. on May 13, 2026 at Rancho Campana High School, 4235 Mar Vista Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010 (use East Parking Lot marked in Exhibit A, page 6, Overall Site Plan). Attendance at the pre-bid conference and site visit is required, and any bidder that does not attend the entirety of the conference and site visit shall be deemed nonresponsive. Failure to attend or tardiness will render bids ineligible.
AWARD OF CONTRACT: The award of the Contract will be based on the following method of determining the lowest total bid amount: Base Bid.
SURETY BONDS: As described in the General Provisions, the successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a separate Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total
Contract Amount.
LABOR LAW: The Project is a “public work” that is subject, among other provisions, to Labor Code Sections 1720 through 1861, inclusive. As described in the Instructions for Bidders, each contractor and subcontractor must be registered with the DIR in accordance with Labor Code Section 1725.5, and bidders must provide evidence of registration for themselves and their subcontractors. Each worker on the Project must be paid not less than the applicable Prevailing Wages. A copy of the applicable rates of Prevailing Wages will be on file and available for review at the Bidding Location, and a copy will be posted at the Project Site. The Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. The successful bidder will be required to post all job-site notices required by DIR regulations and other applicable law. As described in the Special Provisions, the District will conduct a Mandatory Preconstruction Conference for purposes of, among other things, describing labor-law requirements.
RETENTION: Substitution of securities in lieu of retention, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, will be permitted as provided in the General Provisions.
