NOTICE INVITING BIDS8th and Roosevelt Active Transportation Corridor (PLA) CIP No. 19-44PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of National City, hereinafter referred to as the Agency, invites electronic bids for the above stated Project and will receive such bids through the vendor PlanetBids up to the hour of 5:00 P.M., on Friday, May 22, 2026 . The National City Planet Bids link for downloading the documents for the project is: “http://www.planetbids.com/portal/portal.cfm?CompanyID=24103”. The general scope of work consists of improvements to pedestrian and bicycle facilities along 8th Street (between the MTS trolley tracks and Roosevelt Avenue), Roosevelt Avenue (between 8th Street and Main Street), and Main Street (between Division Street and Yama Street) within the City of National City. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, construction of a new shared-use path with landscaped buffer, installation of new lighting and electrical infrastructure, irrigation and landscaping improvements, drainage enhancements, and installation of new signage and striping. Additional work includes roadway improvements such as asphalt paving and construction of new curb and gutters. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held virtually on May 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Please visit PlanetBids for information on how to access the meeting or contact the Engineering and Public Works Department.
