NOTICE INVITING BIDS
PARADISE CREEK WETLAND EXPANSION (PLA), CIP No. 21-28
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of National City, hereinafter referred to as the Agency, invites electronic bids for the above stated Project and will receive such bids through the vendor PlanetBids up to the hour of 2:00 P.M., on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The National City Planet Bids link for downloading the documents for the project is: “http://www.planetbids.com/portal/portal.cfm?CompanyID=24103”.
The general scope of work is to demolish existing concrete paving and construct minor landscape grading, gabion walls, permeable pathways & pavements, solar modular restroom, solar lighting, fencing, plant protections, security, irrigation, restoration planting, interpretive signage, and improvement maintenance.
This project has a tight schedule due to the grant funding source. The project is scheduled to be awarded on June 16, 2026 at the City Council meeting. Afterward, the contractor will work with the City on project submittals. The City will issue the Notice to Proceed (NTP) on July 29, and all construction activities must be completed by December 15, 2026.
There will be a NON-MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. via Zoom .
This is a prevailing wage, PLA project with an estimated construction cost of $946,000. Bidders must possess a valid State of California “B” Contractor’s License. This is a 100 working day contract.San Diego Union-TribunePublished: 4/29, 5/7/26
