NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEAREBY GIVEN that the GARVEY SCHOOL DISTRICT of Los Angeles County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up to but not later than 12:00 P.M. on Monday, June 8, 2026 award of a contract for: Duff Language Magnet Academy Parking Lot BID NO. 054:25/26 Curbs, Concrete, Masonry BID NO. 068:25/26 Electrical & EV Chargers BID NO. 069:25/26 Asphalt Prequalification of bidders: As a condition of bidding for this project, and in accordance with California public contract code section 20111.5, prospective bidders are required to submit digital prequalification documents through the PQ bids website. These documents will be the basis for determining which bidders are qualified to bid on this project. To prequalify, bidders should access PQ Bids (CUPCCAA) weblink: http://www.pqbids.com/garvey and follow the instructions to submit an application under (CUPCCAA). All bids shall be made and presented on a form furnished by the District. Bids shall be received in the office of the Garvey School District Superintendent's Office, 2730 North Del Mar Avenue, Rosemead, California 91770 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud on June 8, 2026 at the following time: Bid No. 054:25/26 Curbs, Concrete, Masonry at 12:00pm. Bid No. 068:25/26 Electrical & EV Chargers at 12:30pm. Bid No. 069:25/26 Asphalt at 1:00pm. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope showing the time and date of the opening and have the bid number and subject printed on the bottom left corner of the envelope. Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which will be distributed in electronic format at the mandatory job walk. Mandatory job walks have been scheduled at Duff Language Magnet Academy (flag pole) 7830 Dorothy St. Rosemead, CA. 91770, on May 15, 2026 as follows: Bid No. 054:25/26 Curbs, Concrete, Masonry at 10:00am. Bid No. 068:25/26 Electrical & EV Chargers at 10:30am. Bid No. 069:25/26 Asphalt at 11:00am. Sign in and meet with the Director of Facilities. Job walk starts promptly at the time stated above. Contractors arriving after said time will not be allowed to submit a bid on the project. Each bidder shall possess at the time this contract is awarded, the following contractor's licenses pursuant to Public Contract Code Sec. 3300. Bid No. 054:25/26 Curbs, Concrete, Masonry Class B and C8 Bid No. 068:25/26 Electrical & EV Chargers Class B and C10 Bid No. 069:25/26 Asphalt Class B, C12 and C32 The successful bidder must maintain the license throughout the duration of this contract. Bid Specifications and all contract documents in electronic format will be available on the day of the job walk. Once the lowest responsible bidder has been selected, the DISTRICT may determine to add to or deduct from the Contract any of the additive or deductive items. The District has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of work needed to execute the contract. The awarded contractor must be registered with DIR. Holiday rates shall be paid as specified in the collective bargaining agreement applicable to each particular craft, classification or type of work employed on the project.Copies of schedules of rates so determined are on file at the District's facility office and are available to any interested party upon request. In accordance with Section 1773.2 of the California Labor Code, the Contractor shall post a copy of the determination of prevailing rate of wages at each job site. The schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight (8) hours. The rate for holiday and overtime shall be at time and onehalf. The Contractor and any subcontractor(s) shall pay not less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed by them in execution of the contract. In accordance with provisions of Public Contract Code sec 22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any moneys withheld to ensure performance under this contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the Contractor. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
