CITY OF UNION CITY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CITY PROJECT NO. 23-16 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals for the work shown on the plans entitled: CITY HALL - DATA CENTER BATTERY BACK UP & AC REPAIRS, CITY PROJECT NO. 23-16, will be received at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Union City, City Government Building, 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, California, until Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, 2:00PM PST, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers of said building. Please be advised that the project is expected to be awarded at the City Council meeting on May 12, 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in Spring 2026. The Contractor shall possess a Class C-10 and C20, or Class B California contractor's license at the time this contract is awarded. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. This contract is subject to the State contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code Section 12990. Bid Package & Bid Package Location. All of the project work is to be done in accordance with the bid package on file with the Public Works Department - City of Union City, 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, California 94587. Eligibility to bid on this project requires bid package to be electronically obtained from the City. Bid package may be obtained at no charge via email request to the City at publicworks@unioncity.org. Non-biddable plans and specifications shall be available to view at various Builders' Exchanges throughout the Bay Area and on the City of Union City website at www.unioncity.org. General Work Description: The work to be done, in general, consists of the removal and replacement of existing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system and air conditioning units for the City Hall & Police Department Data Center. The estimated construction cost is $410,000. The allotted time to complete the project will be 120 working days (5-calendar day). The successful bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond, a Performance Bond, and a Maintenance Bond. Minimum wage rates for this project as predetermined by the Secretary of Labor are set forth in the special provisions. If there is a difference between the minimum wage rates predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and prevailing wage rates determined by the Department of Industrial Relations for similar classifications of labor, the contractor and his subcontractors shall pay not less than the higher wage rates.
