CITY OF YUBA CITY NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 8-5.7202 of the Yuba City Municipal Code Planning and Zoning, the City Council of the City of Yuba City will conduct a Public Hearing to consider Zoning Code Amendment 26-01 to amend Article 53 of Chapter 5 of Title 8 of the Municipal Code regarding mobile, open air and sidewalk vending operations in the City limits. The project will be considered by the City Council on the following date and time: Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2026 Time: 6:00 p.m., or shortly thereafter Location: City Hall Council Chambers, 1201 Civic Center Blvd., Yuba City Project Description: Zoning Code Amendment 26-01 proposes to amend the Municipal Code pertaining to mobile, open air and sidewalk vending operations within the City limits to implement new State legislation pertaining to sidewalk vending and to supplement Article 53 of Chapter 5 of Title 8 pursuant to its police power to permit the City to impound equipment, food, goods, merchandise, and other vending items from vendor operating in violation of the Municipal Code and/or Sutter County Environmental Health Department regulations to promote the public health, safety, and welfare of City residents and visitors. Project Location: This ordinance would apply Citywide. Environmental Review: After reviewing the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the Guidelines, staff believes this project is covered by the general rule specified at CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3) and has determined with certainty that there is no possibility the proposed update to the Municipal Code would cause a significant, adverse, effect on the environment. Therefore, the proposed amendments are not subject to CEQA. All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and express their opinions. If you challenge the project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council prior to the public hearing. For additional information, please contact the Planning Division at developmentservices@yubacity.net. The City has adopted a Reasonable Accommodations Policy that provides a procedure for receiving and resolving requests for accommodation to participate in this meeting.
