NOTICE AND SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 701 Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, the City Council of the City of Lafayette will consider the adoption of Ordinance No. 701. This meeting will take place at 7pm in the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, Don Tatzin Community Hall, 3491 Mount Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, California. Ordinance No. 701 would readopt Chapter 6-6, Section 6-604(e) of the Lafayette Municipal Code (LMC) regarding electric vehicle charging station requirements for certain project types and update code references. Section 6-604(e)(4) currently provides that, in the event of any inconsistency between Section 6-604(e) and the 2022 California Building Code concerning electric vehicle charging requirements for new multifamily development projects, the requirements of Section 6-604(e) shall control. The proposed readoption would not modify any substantive electric vehicle charging requirements. Instead, it would update the reference from the 2022 California Building Code to the 2025 California Building Code. Adoption of Ordinance No. 701 and the provisions it contains are exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, 15061(b)(3) because this project is covered under the common sense rule that CEQA applies only to projects that have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. Adoption of Ordinance No. 701 contains no potential for causing an effect on the environment. Note: The above is simply a summary of the Ordinance. To obtain a full understanding of the Ordinance, it should be read in its entirety. A certified copy of the full text of the Ordinance is posted in the City Clerk's office at 3675 Mount Diablo Blvd., Suite 210, Lafayette, California 94549. A copy may be obtained from that office upon payment of the fee based on the City's actual cost of copying of the document. Joanne Robbins, City Clerk CCT 6969620; May 20, 2026
