TOWN OF PARADISE SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 654 AN ORDINANCE ADDING AND UPDATING SECTION 9.70 TO THE PARADISE MUNCIPAL CODE RELATING TO MILITARY EQUIPMENT USE The following is a summary of Ordinance No. 654: Ordinance No. 654 would add Chapter 9.70 of the Paradise Municipal Code (PMC) relating to military equipment use by the Town of Paradise Police Department. The ordinance provides, among other things, as follows: A definition of Military Equipment, as required by the Government Code, which may be used by the Police Department for the Town of Paradise; A requirement that the Town create a Military Equipment Use Policy that includes certain enumerated criteria, and which must be made public prior to adoption; An annual review by the Town Council of the Military Equipment Use Policy and the Military Equipment permitted to be used by the Town Police; and The completion of an annual report related to the use of Military Equipment in the Town during the prior year.
