ORDINANCE NO. 2152 SUMMARY OF AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF TEHAMA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1922 TO MODIFY AUTOMIBILE ALLOWANCE (A certified copy of the Ordinance is posted in the office of the Clerk of the Board located at 633 Washington Street, Room 12, Red Bluff, California) SUMMARY [Chapter 2.02.020] The proposed ordinance would amend Ordinance No. 1922 to modify the monthly automobile allowance provided to each member of the Board of Supervisors of Tehama County. Ordinance No. 1922 originally established a monthly automobile allowance of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each Supervisor. This ordinance would align the automobile allowance with the County's adopted Internal Revenue Services (IRS) mileage reimbursement rate, providing a standardized and adjustable allowance consistent with Title 2, Chapter 2.42 of the Tehama County Code and County travel reimbursement policies. The automobile allowance provision of Ordinance No. 1922 would be amended to provide that each member of the Board of Supervisors shall receive a monthly automobile allowance equal to the value of one thousand (1,000) miles at the County's adopted IRS standard mileage reimbursement rate. The allowance shall be paid as a flat monthly amount and shall automatically adjust whenever the County adopts a revised IRS mileage reimbursement rate, recalculated as 1,000 miles multiplied by the then current County-approved IRS mileage reimbursement rate. The Auditor-Controller is authorized to adjust the monthly allowance amount whenever the County mileage reimbursement rate changes to ensure the allowance reflects the current rate. If approved, this increase will take effect in July of 2026 when the County adopts the 2026 IRS rate. 5-9/26
