The purpose of the Code Amendment is to update and streamline the City’s regulations for wireless facilities in light of numerous federal and state laws and regulations, which among other things significantly restrict local control over the permitting and placement of wireless facilities. Staff proposed several code amendments, collectively identified as Code Amendment 25-004, which constitute a comprehensive update to the Antennas and Wireless Facilities section of the City’s Land Use Code. Staff believes that all the necessary findings of fact for approval of the proposed Code Amendment can be made. On February 11, 2026, the Planning Commission considered the proposed Code Amendment and adopted a resolution recommending that the City Council approve Code Amendment 25-004.
