NOTICE BY THE YUBA CITY COUNCIL
OF ITS INTENT TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 19, 2026, at 6:00 pm, or as soon after as the matter may be heard, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1201 Civic Center Boulevard, Yuba City, California 95993, the City Council of the City of Yuba City intends to adopt an Ordinance, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YUBA CITY AMENDING ARTICLE 53 OF CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE 8 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING MOBILE, OPEN AIR, AND SIDEWALK VENDING OPERATIONS

SUMMARY
The proposed Ordinance updates standards regulating vending operations within the city limits, implementation of new requirements from the State involving sidewalk vending and, clarifies limitations on regulations to promote young entrepreneurs. The proposed updates provide additional enforcement options for Code Enforcement, establish enhanced penalties for unpermitted vendors (including seizure of equipment of illegal vendors serving food), and protect permitted vendors and restaurants who have complied with food facility regulations and obtained the required permits to operate.
This item was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Yuba City on the 5th day of May 2026. Adoption of the Ordinance will be considered at the Regular City Council meeting on May 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1201 Civic Center Boulevard, Yuba City, California 95993.
