Notice is hereby given that the Cathedral City CITY COUNCIL will hold a Public Hearing on the following:

PROPOSAL
Forest Lawn proposes a Specific Plan for the long-term development of the cemetery use, including the existing facility and redevelopment of the former self-storage facility on the south side of the 10-acre site. Accounting for existing cemetery uses to remain, previously approved cemetery uses and future cemetery development, the proposed Specific Plan would allow for a total of approximately 30,000 square feet of occupied floor area, approximately 315,000 square feet of non-occupied floor area, including approximately 84,000 interment spaces. The proposed General Plan Amendment would change the land use designation for the site from General Commercial (CG) to Neighborhood Commercial (CN), and the proposed Change of Zone would change the zoning designation from Planned Community Commercial (PCC) to Neighborhood Business Park (NBP).

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION
An Initial Study was prepared in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). A Mitigated Negative Declaration is recommended and will be considered during this hearing.
All information regarding the proposed project is available for public review at the City of Cathedral City Civic Center, Planning Department, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
DATE AND TIME OF THE HEARING
May 13, 2026, at 5:30 PM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.
On April 15, 2026, the Planning Commission concluded the public hearing for the Project and voted to recommend City Council approval.
