CITY OF ONTARIONOTICE OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSIONSUBCOMMITTEE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE is hereby given that on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 5:30 PM, the City of Ontario Historic Preservation Commission/Subcommittee will hold public hearings at the Ontario City Hall, Community Conference Room located at 303 East "B" Street, Ontario, CA 91764. NOTICE is further given that a public hearing will be held for consideration of the following project which is exempt from requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act or for which no environmental action is required: ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS REVIEW FOR FILE NO. PHP25-023: A hearing to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to facilitate the construction of a 567 square foot, single-story addition to an existing 26-foot 9-inch tall, 2-story, 1,136 square-foot detached accessory residential structure to accommodate a recreation room on 0.2-acres of land located at 734 East F Street, an Eligible historic resource, within the MDR-11 (Medium Density Residential (11.1 to 18.0 DU/Acre) zoning district. The Project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15331 (Class 31, Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation) of the CEQA Guidelines; (APN: 1048-412-08); submitted by Gilbert Caughman. All supporting documents are available for review at the City of Ontario Planning Department, City Hall, 303 East "B" Street, Ontario, California. The project sites are not on a list compiled pursuant to Government Code section 65962.5 (CAL/EPA Hazardous Waste & Substances Sites List). The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the public hearing and that the supporting information for each project, has been completed and are available for public review for a period of at least 10 days beginning the first date of publication which is anticipated to be February 27, 2026, and ending on March 11, 2026. All written comments concerning the proposed projects should be directed to the Ontario Planning Department, City Hall, 303 East “B” Street, Ontario, California, 91764. Written comments must be received by 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, so that they may be reviewed and considered with the proposed project; comments sent via email to planningdirector@ontarioca.gov will be accepted. The decision of the Historic Preservation Commission/Subcommittee is final unless appealed within 10 calendar days. Appeals must be filed with the Planning Department, completed on the appeal application form, and be accompanied by the appropriate fee. If you challenge any of the foregoing actions in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing for final action described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the Historic Preservation Commission/Subcommittee at, or prior to, the public hearing.
