The Site is located at 8575 Aero Drive, San Diego, California 92123 and is 2.11-acres. It is currently used by a portable solar turbine company. The Site was investigated and cleaned up under DTSC's oversight around 2005. As a result, a land use covenant (Existing LUC) was recorded on April 21, 2005 (#2005-0331835 - Official Records of the San Diego County Recorder). This Existing LUC does not allow residential use of the Site.A cleanup plan, also known as a Response Plan, was approved by DTSC on April 21, 2021, required by the California Land Reuse and Revitalization Act (Health and Safety Code, Division 20, Chapter 6.82). The Response Plan allows multi-story homes to be built by requiring the removal and off-site disposal of contaminated soil, along with installing a vapor intrusion mitigation system to protect residents from harmful vapors.
