Public hearing on the Draft 2025 Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PUBLIC REVIEW OF THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY DRAFT 2025 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN AND DRAFT WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLANNotice is hereby given to all interested parties that a Draft 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (Draft 2025 UWMP) and Draft Water Shortage Contingency Plan (Draft WSCP) have been prepared and completed by the San Diego County Water Authority (Water Authority) and are available for public review. A public hearing on the Draft 2025 UWMP and Draft WSCP will be held on April 23, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the item may be considered, during the Water Authority’s Water Planning and Environmental Committee meeting. Members of the public can attend the hearing virtually via a link provided on the Water Authority’s website, https://www.sdcwa.org/about-us/board-of-directors/meetings/ .
The Draft 2025 UWMP confirms that the Water Authority’s diversified portfolio of water supplies, combined with a sustained commitment to water-use efficiency, will meet the region’s water supply needs through 2050, even during multiple dry years. The Water Authority’s Board of Directors is scheduled to consider the Draft 2025 UWMP and Draft WSCP for approval at its regularly scheduled meeting on May 28, 2026.
The California Urban Water Management Planning Act, included in the California Water Code, requires urban water suppliers to prepare and update an Urban Water Management Plan every five years. The Water Authority is required to adopt a plan for submittal to the California Department of Water Resources by July 1, 2026. A copy of the Draft 2025 UWMP and Draft WSCP is available for public review on the Water Authority’s website at https://www.sdcwa.org/water-authority-releases-water-planning-documents-for-public-review-and-comment . Se informa por medio de la presente a todas las partes interesadas que la Autoridad de Agua del Condado de San Diego (Autoridad de Agua) ha elaborado y puesto a disposición para revisión pública el Plan Preliminar para la Gestión de Aguas Urbanas 2025 (UWMP Preliminar 2025) y el Plan de Contingencia para la Escasez de Agua (WSCP Preliminar).
Se llevará a cabo una audiencia pública sobre estos documentos el 23 de abril de 2026 a las 9:00 a.m., o tan pronto como sea posible una vez iniciado el punto correspondiente, durante la reunión del Comité de Planificación del Agua y Medio Ambiente (WP&E) de la Autoridad de Agua.
