City of Solana BeachNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Solana Beach in the Council Chambers to consider the project summarized below. DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. PROJECT CASE NUMBER: Resolution 2026-044 and Ordinance 543 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City Council will be considering adoption of Resolution 2026-044 that would establish a licensing fee for use of public space for outdoor dining and sidewalk cafés. The City Council will also be considering introduction of Ordinance 543 which would prohibit permanent shade structures for outdoor dining and sidewalk cafés in public spaces. Umbrellas would still be allowed in the public space to provide shade for outdoor dining and sidewalk cafés. ENVIRONMENTAL STATUS: The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the Sate CEQA Guidelines. Please note that pursuant to the Solana Beach Municipal Code, all exhibits, reports, maps and other physical evidence placed before the City Council should be provided to the City and will be retained by the City Clerk, unless photographic copies of said material are presented in their place for the record. If you challenge the project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City of Solana Beach prior to the public hearing.
