City of Solana BeachNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Solana Beach in the Council Chambers to consider the project summarized below. DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. PROJECT CASE NUMBER: Resolution 2026-044 and Ordinance 543 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City Council will be considering adoption of Resolution 2026-044 that would establish a licensing fee for use of public space for outdoor dining and sidewalk cafés. The City Council will also be considering introduction of Ordinance 543 which would prohibit permanent shade structures for outdoor dining and sidewalk cafés in public spaces. Umbrellas would still be allowed in the public space to provide shade for outdoor dining and sidewalk cafés. ENVIRONMENTAL STATUS: The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the Sate CEQA Guidelines.
