AMENDMENT TO COUNTY BUILDING CODE – ADOPTION OF COLORADO WILDFIRE RESILIENCY CODENOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Moffat County, Colorado, will hold a public hearing to consider a resolution amending the Moffat County Building Code pursuant to C.R.S. § 30‑28‑204, to adopt the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code (CWRC) as part of the County's building code, applicable to construction within the unincorporated areas of Moffat County.DATE: Tuesday May 26, 2026TIME: 8:45amLOCATION: 1198 W. Victory Way, Craig, Colorado 81625SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ACTIONThe proposed resolution would amend the existing Moffat County Building Code to incorporate the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, as promulgated by the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code Board, including any local amendments adopted by the Board of County Commissioners. The purpose of the amendment is to establish minimum wildfire‑resilient construction and site standards to reduce risk to life, property, and public safety in areas of wildfire hazard within the unincorporated portions of the County.INSPECTION OF PROPOSED BUILDING CODE AMENDMENTCopies of the proposed resolution, the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code proposed for adoption by reference, and any proposed amendments are available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Office of the Moffat County Clerk and Recorder, 1198 W. Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625, and on the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention & Control's website at https://dfpc.colorado.gov/colorado-wildfire-resiliency-code, beginning at least fourteen (14) days prior to the public hearing.PUBLIC PARTICIPATIONAll interested persons may appear at the hearing and be heard regarding the proposed building code amendment. Written comments may be submitted to the Moffat County Clerk and Recorder prior to the hearing or presented at the hearing.
