SECTION 00100 INVITATION TO BID FKAA PROJECT NUMBER 4103-23 BIG COPPITT EQUALIZATION TANK Proposals for the Big Coppitt Wastewater Equalization Tank will be received electronically via e-Builder by the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) until 2:00 p.m., local time on April 14, 2026 and then will be publicly opened via FKAAs online Bid Portal in e-Builder. Members of the Public are welcome, but not required, to attend the electronic bid opening at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority Administration Building located at 1100 Kennedy Drive, Key West, FL 33040. Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered. In general, this project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for the construction of a new wastewater equalization tank and headworks at FKAAs Big Coppitt WWTP. Drawings and Specifications may be obtained from the following locations: 1) Demand Star by Oniva at www.demandstar.com/supplier; 2) call toll free 1-800-711-1712; or 3) www.fkaa.com under Bid Opportunities. A copy of the certified check must be attached to the bid proposal in e-builder. The Contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest single lump sum/unit cost price proposal, with consideration of any Alternate(s) accepted by the FKAA. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents. All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Florida, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida. In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractors and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes. Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the FKAA will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the FKAA to evaluate the Bidders qualifications. Firms are hereby placed on formal notice that neither the FKAA Board of Directors, nor any employees of the FKAA are to be lobbied either individually or collectively concerning this project. The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Proposals where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Proposal not in compliance with the Contract Documents.
