NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given and published that the City Council of the City of Orange City, Florida will hold a final public hearing for the following administrative text amendment. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public input and consider adoption of an Ordinance as set forth below regarding an administrative text amendment to the Land Development Code regarding Certified Recovery Residences:

ORD. NO. 698, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE CITY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, APPENDIX A  LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, SECTION 8.6.1 SCHEDULE OF ZONING DISTRICT PERMITTED AND CONDITIONAL USES; AND SECTION 8.7.  SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS, TO INCORPORATE DEFINITIONS AND PROCESS FOR RECOVERY RESIDENTS PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATUTE SECTION 397.487 ; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. All public hearings are located in Council Chambers located in the City Annex at 201 North Holly Avenue, Orange City, Florida.

A copy of the above application is available and may be obtained from the Development Services Department located at 200 East Graves Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., by calling (386) 775-5415, or by emailing planning@orangecityfl.gov. All interested persons may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the above administrative text amendment to the Land Development Code. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Planning Commission or City Council with respect to the proceedings at the meeting, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony upon which the appeal is to be based. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing a special accommodation for these hearings should contact Human Resources at (386) 775-5480 three (3) working days in advance of the hearing they plan on attending to make the request.
