NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF
PROPOSED ORDINANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida, that the City Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Hall of Altamonte Springs, 225 Newburyport Avenue, Altamonte Springs, Florida, on June 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, to consider the adoption of Ordinance No. 1843-26 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA, RELATING TO LEGAL ADVERTISEMENTS AND PUBLIC NOTIFICATIONS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 1, GENERAL PROVISIONS, BY AMENDING SECTION 1-2., DEFINITIONS AND RULES OF CONSTRUCTION,TO SET FORTH A RULE OF CONSTRUCTION PERTAINING TO PUBLIC NOTICE AND LEGAL ADVERTISEMENTS; BY AMENDING CHAPTER 28, LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, BY AMENDING ARTICLE I, GENERAL PROVISIONS, TO AMEND SECTION 1.1.12, RULES OF INTERPRETATION, TO PROVIDE A RULE OF INTERPRETATION REGARDING LEGAL ADVERTISEMENTS AND PUBLIC NOTICES, AND TO AMEND SECTION 1.2.1, DEFINITIONS, BY AMENDING THE DUE PUBLIC NOTICE DEFINITION; PROVIDING A BUSINESS IMPACT ESTIMATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, CORRECTION OF SCRIVENERS ERRORS, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
If the ordinance is passed on first reading, the City Commission will schedule, at such reading, a time for the second and final reading to consider the adoption of the ordinance.
At either of the two readings of the ordinance, interested parties may appear and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance. The hearings on such ordinance may be continued from time to time until final action is taken by the City Commission. If anyone decides to appeal any decision on this ordinance, the person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings, which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, is made. The City of Altamonte Springs does not provide this verbatim record.
