PUBLIC NOTICE THE SCHOOL BOARD OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA will conduct a Public Hearing pursuant to 1006.283 and 1006.40, Florida Statutes to consider the recommended adoption of the following instructional materials for World Language classes. The following materials are being recommended, from the state approved instructional materials list, pending budget allowance: High School and Middle School Spanish McGraw Hill-Recommended for Adoption Wayside Publishing High School French Carnegie Learning Vista Higher Learning-Recommended for Adoption The public is invited to preview the materials online via the Okaloosa County School District website. Printed copies of the student texts being proposed for adoption are also available in the Office of Curriculum and Instruction located at the School District's Central Administration Complex, located at 202A Highway 85 North, Niceville, Florida. The Public Hearing will be conducted during the School Board's regular meeting on June 8, 2026, at 5:15 p.m., or soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. This meeting is open to the press and public. Those members of the public wishing to comment on the instructional materials recommended for adoption may appear at the Public Hearing and will be heard. Any interested party who decides to appeal any decision made by the Okaloosa County School Board with respect to any matter considered during this meeting, will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
