Bid Opening will be on Thursday May 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. prevailing time at the District Office; 1401 Clayton Ave., Newton, IL 62448. Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately after specified closing time.
The project consists of renovating an existing restroom and replacing main sewer line. Work includes asbestos abatement, concrete, masonry, interior finishes, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical.
Prevailing wages in accordance with Jasper County is required.
Bid security is required, in the form of a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid as guarantee that the bid will not be withdrawn within 30 days after the date of opening of bids, and that the successful bidder will enter into a Contract for the work awarded to them. Bid security shall be made payable to Jasper County CUSD #1.
Bonds are required: Both a Performance Bond and a Labor and Payment Bond are required for this project, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price.
Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission.
The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the owner.
Award of a contract is anticipated to occur at the May, 2026 meeting of the Board of Education. Begin construction on June 1, 2026. The Work shall be Substantially Complete on or before July 31, 2026.

All official notifications, meeting minutes, addenda, if any, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through www.upchurchgroupplanroom.com.
A Pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday April 30, 2026 at 10:00am at the job site. Interested parties should meet at the High School Office.
