Public Hearing — Gurnee

Notice of Public Meeting
Dear Parents,
As you may be aware, special education laws in the
State of Illinois continue to evolve. In order to remain
in compliance with the reauthorization of the Individu-
als with Disabilities Education Improvement Act
(IDEA), Gurnee School District 56 will be holding an
informational meeting for parents of St. Patrick's
School students who currently receive speech services,
Response to Intervention (RtI), or support through a
Section 504 Plan. Rachel Solomon, Director of Pupil
Services for Gurnee School District 56, will facilitate
the meeting to discuss the district's responsibilities
under IDEA, including the allocation of federal fund-
ing and the proposed use of these funds for the 2025–
2026 school year. The meeting will take place virtually
on May 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
