NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The Rock Island City Planning & Zoning Commission has received a request from Drake Fisher to consider a Special Use Permit in an R-3 (one to six unit residential) district for the described parcel of land: PIN 0831308020 in Rock Island Township, also known as 634 42nd Street in Rock Island, Illinois.  The request is to store construction vehicles and trailers at the property and to maintain a 6ft chain link fence along 42nd Street. A Special Use Permit is required because construction business operations are not permitted in residential zoning districts and fence height is limited to 4ft along public streets under the City s Zoning Ordinance. Before a decision is made, a public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4th, 2026. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 3rd Floor, 1528 3rd Avenue. Everyone who attends will have a chance to speak. If you want to be an interested party and have the right to ask questions during the hearing, you must fill out an appearance form and submit it to the City Clerk at City Hall by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
