Perry Creek ElementaryA video presentation on Perry Clark Elementary was played highlighting their “PAWS” Pledge, implementation of Character Strong, as well as their “One Book One School” initiative.VI. Citizen InputDan Greenwell shared a summary of the ruling on the Iowa Supreme Court case involving a past District Superintendent. He also spoke to a board member regarding other matters.VII. Motion carried 6-0.IX. Board Committee ReportsFor Board Student Achievement Committee, Director Ehmcke shared his excitement for what is being done for math instruction and materials. He shared that they are pleased with the teacher involvement in teaching math.Director Hanson made note of the Board Finance items being on the agenda.President Lee thanked board members for their due diligence in the areas she has asked them to take lead. She also thanked the Human Resources Department, Communications Department, and Board Secretary Heilman for their help.X. Superintendent's Report·He thanked those that attended the Chamber event in Washington D.C. that he was also able to attend.·He is proud of his team and those involved in negotiations and made mention of the tentative agreements with the association groups.·Regarding ISASP, he thanked Amy Denney and her team for their hard work.·He shared that they believe they will be done by end of day Friday and meet State expectations with participation.·He has met with the Sioux City Schools Foundation and has visited most of the elementary schools and their administrative teams·He met with the teachers' associations to address concerns they had.·The facilities committee has been ongoing and has been meeting for next steps.·He met with the Irving Head Start program.·He shared that Briar Cliff hosted District art students with an art show.·He also shared that Morningside University hosted a Siouxland Start open house for the first time with those in nursing and education.

Curriculum AssociatesAmy DenneyDirector Ehmcke moved, and Director Michaelson seconded the motion to approve the purchase of secondary math resources from Curriculum Associates for the 2026-2027 school year for the total amount of $130,779.95.Director Hanson moved to amend the motion to strike “secondary” and replace with “elementary”. Director Ehmcke seconded the motion. FY27 Contract for Transportation Services Between the Sioux City Community School District and Siouxland Regional Transit SystemTim PaulDirector Hanson moved, and Director Michaelson seconded the motion to approve the contract for transportation services between the Sioux City Community School District and Siouxland Regional Transit System (SRTS) for the 2026-2027 school year. Motion carried 5-0.K. FY27 District Concrete ReplacementTim PaulDirector Michaelson moved, and Director Hanson seconded the motion to accept the bid from Siouxland Concrete Co. for $165.00 per yd. with the total not to exceed the allotted $60,000 for the replacement of concrete District-wide as part of the annual sales tax plan. Welding EquipmentJim Vanderloo/ Eric KilburnDirector Ehmcke moved, and Director Hanson seconded the motion to approve the purchase of welding equipment from Linde Gas and Equipment in the amount of $49,742.01.
