PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION Notice is hereby given to all eligible voters in Clayton County, Iowa, that a Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, for the purpose of nominating Democratic and Republican candidates for the General Election for Federal, State, and County Offifices. Only voters who are registered with the Democratic or Republican parties (or people who declare their affifiliation with one of these parties at their polling location) may vote in primary elections. Only the candidates for that party will appear on the ballot. The polling places will open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM. Voters who are not pre-registered such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter's identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the County Auditor's Offifice by June 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Open from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026. All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 PM on Election Day to be considered on time to be counted. A voted absentee ballot may NOT be turned into the polling place for counting; however, the voter or the voter's designee may bring the ballot to the Auditor Offifice's by the time the polls close on Election Day.
