ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS People First invites Bids for Partial Building E Demolition at Gillmore Village in Utica, NY. Sealed Bids for Demolition Work will be received at the office of Mike Wittman, Modernization Coordinator, at People First, 509 Second Street, Utica, NY 13501-2450 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 , at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Architect, James Jordan Associates, Architects, 66 Main Street, PO Box 111, Richfield Springs, NY 13439-0111, telephone 315 858-8000, fax 315 858-0755. Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Architect’s office upon deposit of $100 for each set. Checks shall be made payable to James Jordan Associates, Architects. Any qualified Bidder, upon returning its set in good condition within 30 days after the award of Contract, will be refunded its deposit for the initial set in full. Prospective Bidders may obtain more than one set and will be refunded $50 for each additional set returned. For the convenience of prospective Bidders, subcontractors and material suppliers, Bidding Documents also will be on file as follows: Eastern Contractors Association, Inc., 6 Airline Drive, Albany, NY 12205-1095 Syracuse Builders Exchange, 6563 Ridings Rd, Ste 2, Syracuse, NY 13206-1855 A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and On-Site Inspection of the premises will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. by People First. All attending the Pre-Bid Conference will meet at 509 Second Street, Utica, NY 13501-2450. Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the requirements of minimum Prevailing Wage Rates to be paid under the Contract and Affirmative Action Requirements in hiring minority subcontractors and/or suppliers. Each Bidder shall comply with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements per Federally-funded projects, including the training and employment of lower income and minority persons, and the awarding of Contracts for maintenance, supplies and equipment to business concerns located in the City of Utica, or owned in substantially part by residents of the City of Utica. Bids shall be prepared as set forth in the “Instructions to Bidders,” enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the Bidder and the title of the work to which the enclosed Bid relates. Each Bidder shall deposit with its Bid, security in an amount not less than five percent of the Base Bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the “Instructions to Bidders.” No Bidder may withdraw its Bid within 45 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
