Public hearing on solid waste management plan scheduled for March 9, 2026.

PUBLIC NOTICE: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – Yates County.

Yates County will hold a public hearing on March 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers , Yates County Office Building, Penn Yan, New York, for the purpose of receiving public comment on the Yates County Local Solid Waste Management Plan (LSWMP). The Draft LSWMP identifies a path to manage and reduce the amount of solid waste generated within the County during a ten-year period that is consistent with the States solid waste management policy. Pursuant to the revised Part 366-3 Solid Waste Regulations as promulgated by the State of New York Department of Environmental Conservation, the public has forty-five (45) days in which to review and comment on the LSWMP.

A copy of the Draft LSWMP will be available for public review at the Yates County Planning Department Office, 417 Liberty Street Suite 1112, Penn Yan, NY 14527, and at https://www.yatescountyny.gov/706/Local-Solid-Waste-Management-Plan. Written comments will be received until March 19 th , 2026, and can be submitted to:
