LEGAL NOTICE VILLAGE OF HAMBURG ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Village of Hamburg Zoning Board of Appeals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Village Hall, 100 Main Street, Hamburg, New York 14075 regarding the following: MATTER #1 Application No. 2026-00484 by Derek Palmerton for two (2) area variances for a detached garage. Traditional Village Residential (TVR). The Code of the Village of Hamburg, Zoning thereof: Section §250-23.4B(2) Residential accessory uses and structures. “ The floor area of a detached garage shall not exceed 600 square feet.” Code: 600 sq. ft. Proposed: 1040 sq. ft. enclosed, plus 240 sq. ft. lean-to, for a total of 1280 sq. ft. Variance requested: 680 sq. ft. Section §250-23.4A(5) Residential accessory uses and structures. [Use shall] “B e finished with materials and/or siding that is consistent and compatible with the existing character of the principal structure and surrounding residential neighborhood.” Code: Consistent and compatible materials with existing principal structure and neighborhood. Proposed: Steel vertical siding. Variance requested: Use of non-compatible material (steel siding). Subject premises is known as 51 Darlich Avenue, S.B.L. 196.06-10-1.1. MATTER #2 Application No. 2026-00504 by Debra Hurley for three (3) area variances for a detached garage. Traditional Village Residential (TVR). The Code of the Village of Hamburg, Zoning thereof: Section §250-20.5 Dimensional requirements. Minimum side yard [setback] accessory use or structure is 3 feet. Code: 3’. Proposed: 2.4’.
