NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET VOTE
HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public budget hearing for the purpose of discussion of the expenditure of funds and the budgeting thereof for the school fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026, will be held by the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District in the High School Cafeteria on May 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the annual school budget vote of the inhabitants of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, qualified to vote at school meetings in said district, will be held in accordance with New York State requirements on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the High School Lobby for the purpose of voting upon the proposed budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026, the election of three (3) trustees to the Board of Education, and voting upon any other propositions properly submitted.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes, together with the propositions to be voted upon, including the local government exemption impact report, may be obtained by any resident in the District, in the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the annual budget vote, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at the Administrative Office, or any school building, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Petitions nominating candidates for member of the Board of Education may be filed at the District Office, 20 Church Street, Honeoye Falls, New York, and also, at the Lima Primary School Building between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Such petition shall be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the school district, must state the name and residence of each signer, and the name and residence of the candidate. Petitions shall be filed with the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on *April 20, 2026. Drawing for position of candidates on the ballot will take place on April 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the District Office as required by law. *Note: If the deadline for filing petitions falls on “a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday,” the filing may be performed on the “next succeeding business day”.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk at 20 Church Street, Honeoye Falls, NY, 14472. Such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued will be available for inspection during regular business hours in said office of the District Clerk during the five (5) days prior to the day of the election and such list will also be posted at the polling place of the election.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for early mail ballots may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk at 20 Church Street, Honeoye Falls, NY, 14472. A list of all persons to whom early mail ballots shall have been issued, will be available in the said office of the District Clerk on each of the five days prior to the day of the election except Sundays, and that such list will also be posted at the polling place of the election.
Military voters who are qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk at 585-624-7010 or camorese@hflcsd.org . For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 P.M. on April 23, 2026. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, fax or email.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the election of members of the Board of Education and voting on propositions will be held in accordance with New York State requirements on May 19, 2026. It is recommended that the following propositions be approved:
PROPOSITION #1 – 2026-27 BUDGET
Shall the Board of Education of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District in the Counties of Monroe, Livingston and Ontario, State of New York, be and hereby is authorized to expend the sum of $67,740,000 for the 2026-27 school year and to levy the necessary tax therefor.
PROPOSITION #2 – SCHOOL BUS PURCHASE
Shall the Board of Education be authorized to purchase vehicles for student transportation including necessary furnishings, fixtures, equipment and all other necessary costs incidental thereto, and expend a sum not to exceed $1,181,590 which is the cost estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, to be raised by tax on the taxable property of the District which shall be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Education, and to finance all or part of the cost thereof by bonds or notes issued in accordance with the Education Law and the Local Finance Law or by installment purchase contracts in accordance with the General Municipal Law and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said obligations when due?
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
