NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTIONS
Tuckahoe Common School District
Town of Southampton
County of Suffolk, N.Y.

WHEREAS, the State of New York has scheduled the annual budget vote and school Trustee election on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees designates May 19, 2026, as the Annual Meeting date and,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Budget Hearing of the inhabitants of the Tuckahoe Common School District, in the Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, N.Y. qualified to vote at school meetings in said district will be held in the Tuckahoe School, 468 Magee Street, Southampton, N.Y. on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 6:30 P.M. Prevailing Time, for discussion of the budget for the school year 2026-2027 and the transactions of such business as is authorized by the Education Law.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that voting upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures (School District Budget) for the year 2026-2027 or on propositions involving the expenditure of money, or authorizing the levy of taxes, the election of one member to the Board of Trustees take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 between the hours of 7 A.M. and 8 P.M. in the Tuckahoe School, 468 Magee Street, Southampton, N.Y. Voting will be by machine.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement for the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes, exclusive of public moneys, and specifying the several purposes and amount for each purpose may be obtained by any taxpayer in the district during the fourteen days immediately preceding the Annual Meeting at the School Office at 468 Magee Street, Southampton, N.Y. between the hours of 9 a.m. and Noon and 1 P.M. and 4 P.M. except Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN, Pursuant to Chapter 258 of the Laws of 2008, Section 495 was added to the Real Property Tax Law and requires the School District to attach to its proposed budget an exemption report. Said exemption report, which will also become part of the final budget, will show how the total assessed value of the final assessment roll used in the budgetary process is exempt from taxation, list every type of exemption granted by statutory exemption, the cumulative amount expected to be received as payments in lieu of taxes (PILOT) and the cumulative impact of all exemptions granted. In addition, said exemption report shall be posted on any bulletin board maintained by the District for public notices and on any website maintained by the District.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Trustees must be filed with the Clerk of the District not later than 5 p.m. on April 20, 2026. The following vacancy is to be filled on the Board of Trustees:
For a term of 3 years, commencing July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2029.
Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District, must state the residence of each signer; must state the name and residence of the candidates, and shall not describe any specific vacancy upon the Board of Trustees for which the candidate is nominated.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for absentee and early mail ballots may be applied for in person or by mail at the office of the District Clerk, Tuckahoe School, 468 Magee St., Southampton, N.Y. between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. Such applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the Annual Election date if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. No absentee or early mail voter's ballot will be canvassed unless it has been received in the Office of the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the Annual Election (May 19, 2026). A list of persons to whom absentee and early mail ballots have been issued will be available to qualified voters of the School District in the Office of the District Clerk during regular business hours on each of the five days prior to the day of the Annual Election.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN, that military voters who are qualified voters of the school district may submit an application for a military ballot. Military voters may designate a preference to receive a military ballot application or military ballot by mail, facsimile transmission, or electronic mail in their request for such ballot application or ballot. Military ballot applications must be received in the Office of the District Clerk by mail or in person by no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026. No military ballot will be canvassed unless it is returned by mail or in person and (1) received in the office of the District Clerk before the close of the polls on election day and showing a cancellation mark of the United States postal service or a foreign country’s postal service, or showing a dated endorsement of receipt by another agency of the United States government; or (2) received by the office of the District Clerk by no later than 5:00 p.m. on election day and signed and dated by the military voter and one witness thereto, with a date which is associated to be not later than the day before the election.

POR EL PRESENTE, SE LES DA NOTICIA a los habitantes del Distrito Escolar Común de Tuckhahoe, en el Municipio de Southampton, Suffolk, Nueva York, calificado de votar en reuniones escolares del distrito antedicho, que la audiencia sobre el presupuesto tendrá lugar en la Escuela Tuckahoe, 468 Magee Street, Southampton, Nueva York, lunes el 11 de mayo, 2026 a las 6:30 P.M. por la tarde, para hablar sobre asuntos del presupuesto para el año escolar 2026-2027 y las transacciones de negocios autorizados por la Ley Educativa.
