CITY OF CORTLAND, OHIOAPPLICATIONS FOR LATERAL TRANSFERFIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC DATE: RETURN APPLICATIONS MAY 4th – MAY 15th FROM 8:30 – 4:30 P.M. (CLOSED 12 TO 1 FOR LUNCH) AT CITY HALL - 400 N HIGH ST., CORTLAND OHIO Must have Valid Driver’s License or Picture ID Lateral Transfer Applications can be found on the City’s website at cortlandoh.gov (under Community & Employment Opportunity) or picked up at 194 Lattin St. or City Hall. Completed Applications and all other documentation will be accepted via email at admin@cortlandoh.gov from May 4th to the close of business on May 15th or they may be dropped off at City Hall. For questions please call (330)637-2891. QUALIFICATIONS: To be appointed to this position, an applicant must be certified as a Firefighter Level 2 and Paramedic, must be at least 18 years old and must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License.There is hereby established a maximum age of 40 (before or on the applicant’s date of appointment) for a person to apply to the City for an original appointment to the City’s Fire Department. Applicants that have transferable full-time credit from a State of Ohio retirement system or from Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund shall use this time to reduce their actual age to meet the (age 40) maximum age for original appointment provided the applicant passes a fit-for-duty medical evaluation.
