Notice of Election on Qualifying Tax Levy by School District in Excess of the Ten Mill Limitation
Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Northwestern Local School District of West Salem, Ohio, passed on the 27th day of January, 2026, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the Primary election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, the 5th day of May, 2026 the question of levying a tax, in excess of the ten mill limitation, which shall be renewal of a tax for the benefit of Northwestern Local School District for the purpose of Current Operating Expenses at a rate not exceeding 1.8 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $63 for each $100,000 of the county auditor's market value, for 5 Years. The estimated annual collections of this levy is $456,400. The carry-over balance in the district's general operating budget from the preceding fiscal year exceeds the district's general fund expenditures in the amount of $ 0, which is 0 % of expenditures. The polls for the election will be open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
