NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
SPARTANBURG COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT SIX
FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027 OPERATING BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that Spartanburg County School District Six will hold a public hearing on the district's proposed operating budget for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year at 10:00 o'clock a.m. on Monday, the 1st day of June, 2026. The hearing will be held at the Spartanburg County School District Six Administration Building, which is located at 1390 Cavalier Way.
As required by Section 6-1-80, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, the public is advised of the following:
1. The budget of Spartanburg County School District Six for the current Fiscal Year calls for operating revenues of $165,601,365 and operating expenditures of $165,601,365.
2. The proposed budget of Spartanburg County School District Six for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 calls for operating revenues of $176,155,212 and operating expenditures of $176,155,212.
3. Ad valorem property taxes in the amount of 152.3 mills were levied in the current Fiscal Year to meet operational needs of Spartanburg County School District Six.
4. The proposed revenues for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 operating budget of Spartanburg County School District Six represents a 6.4% increase from the operating budget for the current fiscal year.
5. The Spartanburg County School District Six Board of Trustees estimates that ad valorem property tax revenue of $39,950,549 will be necessary to meet the revenues required by the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 operating budget of the Spartanburg County School District Six representing a 5.1% increase from the current fiscal year.
