NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGPROPOSED ADOPTION OF COUNTY CODEIn compliance with the Code of Virginia §15.2-2204, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors provides notice that it will hold a public hearing Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in the Board of Supervisors' Meeting Room at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 at 6 p.m. or as soon thereafter as practical. The purpose of the hearing is to consider adopting an ordinance amending and enacting Wythe County's Code of Ordinances. The Board of Supervisors will accept public comments and may adopt the ordinance at the same meeting. Wythe County contracted with MuniCode, a division of CivicPlus, to work with County staff to systematically catalog, organize, update, correct and publish a Code of Ordinances based on ordinances now in effect as adopted by the Board of Supervisors. The new Code does not substantively change the language or intent of the current ordinances but provides a structured code both in print and online through the MuniCode Library and the Wythe County website. The new Code makes finding local law easier for users, streamlines the county's fees and assessments schedule, and maintains reserved sections for future Code amendments and new ordinances. The draft code is available for inspection at the Wythe County Administration Office at 290 S. Sixth Street, Suite 350, Wytheville, VA 24382 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
