BOARD OF YAKIMA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 2026 - Adoption Title 8.50 Fire Hazards Yakima County Public Services Building & Fire Safety Division NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Resolution No. 103-2026, dated April 28, 2026, the Board of Yakima County Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider Ordinance No. 4-2026 adopting regulations which were codified as Title 8 of the Yakima County Code. If the ordinance to be considered at the public hearing is adopted, Title 8, Chapter 8.50 of the Yakima County Code will be immediately adopted and effective June 1,2026. Public comments on the proposed annual burn ban will be considered at the hearing as indicated below: The public hearing will be held on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, to review the ordinance. The meeting will be conducted virtually by Zoom or in person in the BOCC Basement Conference Room, Room 33B, 128 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, Washington, 98901. Participants interested in joining the hearing virtually may do so via the Zoom link located on the Board of County Commissioners website. Hearing Materials You can obtain the draft ordinance by downloading it from the Public Services: Building & Fire Safety page on the Yakima County website. Users who need accessibility assistance can also contact us by phone through the Federal Information Relay Service at 1-800-877-8339 for TTY/Voice communication. Request for Comments Your views on the proposals are encouraged. You may provide verbal comments at the public hearing. In addition, all mailed comments received prior to the hearing will be considered.
