SUMMARY OF CITY OF REDDING
ORDINANCE NO. 2691
Pursuant to Government Code section 36933(c)(1), the following is a summary report of the City of Redding’s Ordinance No. 2691 an ordinance of the City Council of the City of Redding amending Redding Municipal Code Title 9 (Health and Safety), Chapter 9.20 (Fire Prevention).
The proposed ordinance was introduced by title only at the regular Redding City Council meeting held on May 5, 2026, and will be considered for adoption at its next regular meeting on May 19, 2026. The purpose of the amendments is to adopt the 2025 edition of the California Fire Code and the 2021 edition of the International Fire Code. The amendments are intended to clarify current code language while maintaining the intent and content of application in the Redding Municipal Code, and to ensure that necessary local amendments specific to fire and life safety hazards are implemented.
