PUBLIC NOTICE The Alameda Unified School District will receive written comments for thirty (30) calendar days beginning May 19, 2026, and concluding on June 18, 2026, for the consideration of the Preliminary Environmental Assessment (PEA) for the construction of Wood Middle School as required by California Education Code Section 17213.1(a)(6). The project site is located at 420 Grand Street in Alameda, Alameda County, California and consists of an approximate 13.5-acre area comprised of Assessor Parcel Number 74-1250-1-3 and portion of 74-1250-1-2, and roadway easement that extends onto APN 74-1250-1-4; and is planned for school grades 6-8. The PEA report summarizes the results of the environmental sampling and recommendations to the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). The Alameda Unified School District will hold a public hearing during the Governing Board's meeting on June 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Alameda City Hall Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501. Public comments regarding the PEA will be received at that time.
