PUBLIC NOTICE The Alameda Unified School District will receive written comments for thirty (30) calendar days beginning May 19, 2026, and concluding on June 18, 2026, for the consideration of the Removal Action Workplan (RAW) for the construction of Frank Otis Elementary School as required by California Education Code Section 17213.2, subdivision (a). The project site is located at 3010 Fillmore St, Alameda, Alameda County, and consists of an approximately 2.7-acre tract of land and is planned for school grades TK-5. The RAW recapitulates the results of the Preliminary Environmental Assessment (PEA) report and provides safe steps to remove impacted soil as requested by the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) in their approval letter dated March 5, 2026. The Alameda Unified School District will hold a public hearing during the Governing Board's meeting on June 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Alameda City Hall Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501. Public comments regarding the RAW will be received at that time.
