CITY OF CHICO ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD PLANNING COMMISSION SUB-COMMITTEE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Chico Architectural Review and Historic Preservation Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 421 Main Street, regarding the following project: Architectural Review 26-01 (Meriam Park Hotel); APNs 002-690-048; 002-690-046; and 002-690-047: A proposal to construct a 96-room, four story hotel on an undeveloped 0.44-acre lot, located on the southeast corner of Notre Dame Boulevard and Market Place. The proposal also includes associated site work for vehicle parking and landscaping. The project site is designated Special Mixed Use on the City of Chico General Plan Land Use Diagram, zoned Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND). The project falls within the scope of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Meriam Park Master Plan, which was certified by the City Council on June 19, 2007. Pursuant to Section 15162 of the California Environmental Quality Act (Subsequent EIRs and Negative Declarations), no subsequent environmental review is necessary.
