NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
2025 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN & WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach (“City”) will hold a public hearing on May 5, 2026, in City Council Chambers located at 2000 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 or as soon thereafter as the Agenda permits, to consider the City’s proposed 2026 Urban Water Management Plan (“UWMP”), and 2026 Water Shortage Contingency Plan (“WSCP”).
The public hearing is being held in accordance with the Urban Water Management Planning Act (California Water Code Sections 10610 through 10657 and 10608; herein referred to as the “Act”). The Act requires “every urban water supplier providing water for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet of water annually” to prepare, adopt, and file a UWMP with the California Department of Water Resources and review and update its UWMP every five years. The purpose of the public hearing will be to solicit public comment prior to adoption of the proposed updated UWMP and WSCP.
Copies of the proposed 2025 UWMP and 2025 WSCP are available for public inspection at the Public Works Counter at City Hall, which is located at 2000 Main Street, on the first floor, during normal business hours, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. City’s public hearing is scheduled for May 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM as a part of the City Council Meeting. All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing on the UWMP, to express their opinions for, or against, with written or oral comments.
