PUBLIC HEARINGS NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lomita City Council will hold public hearings to consider adoption of the following ordinances at a regular City Council meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
General Plan Amendment No. 2026-01 and Zoning Map Amendment No. 2026-01: An amendment to change the General Plan land use and zoning designations of several lots throughout the City and finding the action to be categorically exempt from the California Environmentally Quality Act (CEQA)
Zoning text Amendment No. 2026-01: An amendment to the non-conforming section of the zoning code, Section 11-1.70.17 of Lomita Municipal Code (LMC) Title XI (Planning and Zoning) Chapter 1 (Zoning), and find the action to be categorically exempt from CEQA
Zoning Text Amendment No. 2024-05: An amendment to Article 30 (Residential Zones) of LMC Title XI (Planning and Zoning) Chapter 1 (Zoning) to authorize the Community and Economic Development Director to interpret the residential land use table and delete Article 34 (P-Parking) and Article 58 (Mixed-Use Overlay District); and find the action to be categorically exempt CEQA
The Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval to the City Council of these items. The public hearings will take place in the Council Chambers at Lomita City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Avenue, Lomita, CA 90717. At the public hearings you may appear and be heard, or you may write to the Planning Commission in support of or in opposition to this matter.
