NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONSIDERATION OF SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT AND A ZONING AMENDMENT TO CHANGE SECTION 18.98 OF THE ZONING CODE TO ALLOW AUTOMOBILE IN THE MIXED USED WITH A USE PERMIT AND ENTERTAINMENT USES IN THE MIXED-USE NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRICTS WITH A MINOR USE PERMIT IN THE DOWNTOWN SPECIFIC PLAN AREA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will hold a public hearing to consider a recommendation to approve a zoning code amendment at its meeting on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at 6 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 526 C Street, Marysville, California. Project Description: The City is considering a zoning change amendment to Section 18.98 of the City of Marysville’s Zoning Code (allowed uses and permit requirements) of the Downtown Specific Plan zoning districts and to amend the corresponding Downtown Specific Plan Table 4.2 to allow automobile uses in the Mixed-Use Corridor (MU-C) district with a minor use permit and entertainment uses in the Mixed-Use Neighborhood (MU-N) districts with a Minor Use Permit. A copy of the specific plan outlining the districts can be found on the City’s website: bc8fd4_1577346448a04ea9bf2264725cad8084.pdf. With the updated Downtown Specific Plan these existing uses are considered legal non-conforming. This change would allow these types of uses to expand or be established with a minor use permit.
