SHASTA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPROVE ADMINISTRATIVE PERMITS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to applicable law, that the Shasta County Planning Director has determined that the proposed uses meet all applicable criteria and on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, intends to approve the following Administrative Permit: Brian and Shauni Nakatani have requested approval of an Administrative Permit to exceed the total combined residential accessory building floor area limit of 2,500 square-feet and to exceed the 20-foot maximum structural height restriction for an accessory building located less than 50 feet from a property line for a proposed 20-foot 2-inch tall, 1,500-square-foot shop located 35 feet from the southern property line. The project site is located at 20387 Blue Mountain Road, Redding, CA 96003, approximately 0.15 miles west of the intersection of Blue Mountain Road and East Stillwater Way. The property is developed with a 2,083-square-foot single-family residence with an attached 796-square-foot garage, and a detached 1,225 garage/shop with an attached 350-square-foot covered patio. The Planning Director is authorized to approve Administrative Permits without a public hearing. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Department of Resource Management, Planning Division, within five calendar days of the permit approval date stated above.
