NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN CITY OF STOCKTON (COS) released its DRAFT 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and 2025 Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) for public review and comment beginning APRIL 12, 2026, through MAY 12, 2026.The UWMP is updated at least every five years in accordance with the California Urban Water Management Planning Act (CA Water Code Sections 10610-10657) and support statewide efforts to ensure long term water supply reliability. The City Council scheduled a public hearing on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. to consider adoption of the Draft 2025 UWMP and WSCP. Community members are invited and encouraged to review the draft documents, attend the public hearing, and provide public comment. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 5:30 p.m. City of Stockton Council Chambers 425 N. El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA 95202 COS has prepared updates to its UWMP and WSCP, which are long range planning documents. The plan outlines supply and demand projections over a 25-year planning horizon (2025-2050), evaluates available water supplies to meet current and future demands under various supply conditions, and describes water demand management measures aimed at reducing long-term water use. The WSCP provides COS's formal framework for responding to water shortages and the actions COS may take during droughts or emergencies to reduce demand and protect essential water service.
