CITY OF BRADENTON, FLORIDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: PROPOSED ORDINANCE 4076 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BRADENTON, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE PROVISION OF SERVICES, FACILITIES, PROGRAMS, AND LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF BRADENTON, FLORIDA; ADOPTING CHAPTER 75 OF THE CITY OF BRADENTON CODE OF ORDINANCES ENTITLED "MASTER CAPITAL PROJECT AND SERVICE ASSESSMENTS"; AUTHORIZING THE IMPOSITION AND COLLECTION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AGAINST PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF BRADENTON; PROVIDING CERTAIN DEFINITIONS AND DEFINING THE TERMS "ASSESSMENT," "SERVICE ASSESSMENT," AND "CAPITAL ASSESSMENT"; PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF ASSESSMENT AREAS; ESTABLISHING THE PROCEDURES FOR IMPOSING CAPITAL AND SERVICE ASSESSMENTS; ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR NOTICE AND ADOPTION OF ASSESSMENT ROLLS; PROVIDING THAT ASSESSMENTS CONSTITUTE A LIEN ON ASSESSED PROPERTY UPON ADOPTION OF THE ASSESSMENT ROLL; PROVIDING THAT THE LIEN FOR AN ASSESSMENT COLLECTED PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 197.3632 AND 197.3635, FLORIDA STATUTES, UPON PERFECTION SHALL ATTACH TO THE PROPERTY ON THE PRIOR JANUARY 1, THE LIEN DATE FOR AD VALOREM TAXES; PROVIDING THAT A PERFECTED LIEN SHALL BE EQUAL IN RANK AND DIGNITY WITH THE LIENS OF ALL STATE, CITY, DISTRICT, OR MUNICIPAL TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS AND SUPERIOR IN DIGNITY TO ALL OTHER PRIOR LIENS, MORTGAGES, TITLES, AND CLAIMS; AUTHORIZING EXEMPTIONS; PROVIDING PROCEDURES FOR COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS; PROVIDING A MECHANISM FOR THE IMPOSITION OF ASSESSMENTS ON GOVERNMENT PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF OBLIGATIONS; DECLARING THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE TO BE SUPPLEMENTAL, ADDITIONAL, AND AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD; PROVIDING FOR APPLICABILITY AND SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS AND CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. will be considered at the regular meeting of the Bradenton City Council to be held Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall, 101 Old Main Street, Bradenton, Florida 34205.
