NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of Astatula Planning and Zoning Committee will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Astatula Town Hall located at 25009 CR 561, Astatula, FL, to consider a request from Marc LeClerc to rezone a parcel of land at 14015 Tennessee Avenue from A Agriculture to R-1 Single Family Low Density. The parcel is legally described as:
WEST OF LOTS 5 AND 9, BLOCK 1AND THAT PART OF THE SOUTH OF MASSACHUSSETTS AVENUE ADJOINING SAID LOT 5 ON THE NORTH; THAT PART OF KANSAS AVENUE LYING BETWEEN SAID LOTS 5 AND 9, THAT PART OF THE N OF PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE ADJOINING LOTS 5 AND 9 ON THE EAST SIDE, AND THAT PART OF THE E OF THAT CERTAIN UNNAMED STREET ADJOINING LOT 9 ON THE WEST SIDE, ALL IN ASTATULA, FLORIDA; ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL MAP THEREOF RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 1 PAGE 12 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA BEING OTHERWISR DESCRIBED AS THE W OF THE NW OF THE SW OF THE NW AND THE SW OF THE NW OF THE NW , SECTION 33 TWP 20S, RGE 26E, LESS THAT PART OF THE E OF THAT CERTAIN UNNAMED STREET RUNNING ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF THE SAID NW OF THE NW .
The Town of Astatula Town Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Astatula Town Hall located at 25009 CR 561, Astatula, FL, for first reading on the ordinance to consider the same rezoning request from Mr. LeClerc to rezone the subject parcel from Agriculture to Single Family Low Density residential. Second reading of the ordinance will be considered on July 14, 2026 at the same location and time.
Unless made at the hearing on the case, all oral and written communications concerning the case, between the Town Council on the one hand, and the applicant or the public on the other hand, are prohibited by Florida Law. The staff report on the case shall be sent to the Town Council and will be available to the general public at least five (5) days prior to the hearing on the case.
A person who decides to appeal any decision made by any board, agency, or council with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, will need a record of the proceedings. For such purposes, any such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based (Florida Statutes, 286.0105).
The Town of Astatula Land Development Regulations are available for inspection at the Town Hall, located at 25009 CR 561, Astatula, FL, Monday ? Thursday during normal working hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
