CITY OF PUNTA GORDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING YOU ARE HEREBY notified that the Punta Gorda City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 9:00 A.M. or as soon thereafter as may be heard to consider the following UTILITIES INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS - The City proposes to construct a new Master Pump Station, related Booster Pump Station, new Lift Station 30 and an associated Force Main. The purpose of the public hearing is to present the proposed improvement plan with an estimated cost of $22.4 million and to provide the public with an opportunity to review, discuss and provide input. A portion of the project cost is being funded by Hurricane Helene and Milton principal forgiveness funding from the State of Florida and is projected to be eligible for funding from the State of Florida through State Revolving Fund (SRF) low interest loans from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the proceeds of which will be loaned to the City. This hearing will include a discussion of the recommended improvements and the financial impact on system users. The hearing is intended to give individuals the opportunity to be heard on the economic and social effects of the location, design and environmental impact of the improvements. A portion of the funding for this project is anticipated to come from the State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan program. Financial impacts on utility users will be presented at the hearing. The hearing is open to the public and all interested parties are invited to attend and express their views. Written statements may be submitted prior to or at the time of the meeting. A copy of the Facility Plan is available for review at the City Utilities Department offices located at 3132 Cooper Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Said hearing will be held in the Laishley Community Room at 120 Laishley Court, Unit 111, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Any persons desiring to be heard on this matter may appear at the above time and place. If an appeal is to be made of any decision made at this meeting, a verbatim record of the proceeding may be required. A copy of this notice and the associated public hearing documents are available for inspection at the Office of the City Clerk located 117 Herald Court, Unit 211, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida Statute 286.26, the location of this public hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities.
